In this article I give some background about how OhmyNews, an online newspaper in South Korea, which pioneered citizen jounalism, began. The article describe the vision about involving netizens toward a new media form for the 21st century, a vision pioneered by OhmyNews's founder Oh Yeon Ho. I hope this article will help to encourage discussion both about what is needed for a 21st century journalism, and also about how new online forms like newsvine can help to meet this need.
